みなさん、こんにちは。お待たせしました！

きょうから、いっしょに、Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
を読んでいきましょう。

これからVol.5を読もうとする方がとまどってしまうようなことばが、
すでに表紙にありますね。つまりこのタイトルにある、Orderということば
です。

このOrderが意味するのは、「命令」でしょうか
それとも「注文」？　それとも「秩序」でしょうか。
それとも別のことを意味しているのでしょうか？

・・・・・・そうです。このタイトルでは、Orderは上記とは異なる
別の意味で使われています。

Orderには「宗教団体」、もしくは「特別なルールや目的のもとで
生活をともにする共同体」という意味があります。

いままでのいろいろなことを合わせて考えると、
このOrderは「宗教団体」ではないことがわかりますね。
宗教と魔法は相性がよくありませんし、対極に位置するものです。

ということは、残された意味は、「特別のルールや目的のもとで生活を
ともにする共同体」になります。

ここでいう「特別のルール」とか「目的」とは何か、ということは
この素晴らしい本を開き、１ページ目から読み始めることで、
ご自分で答えを見いだしてください！

of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" will appear not
on the inside of the book, but on the front cover.

What does the word “Order” mean?
Is it a command?
Is it a request for service?
Is it a sequence in which objects are lined up?
Or, does it have another meaning?

If you have asked yourself the above questions,
the answer is “another meaning.”

An Order is a religious body or community living
under a specific set of rules and objectives.

Having gathered this amount of information,
we can first of all be sure that the Order of the Phoenix
is not a religious body, for religion and witchcraft don't mix well
and are considered complete opposites.

So, we are left with “a community living under a specific
set of rules and objectives.”
